When I was writing this story and envisioning my characters, MGK was my top choice for Lucas, both in looks and perceived personality – devoted, chaotic, toxic, dependent.
And for Riley, Florence Pugh (but with darker hair!) – Strong-willed, caring, bold.
SONG CHOICE
My song choice included in the book is ‘I Can’t Hear It Now’ by Freya Ridings. This song really spoke to me during the writing process, portraying how Riley has these very big and complicated feelings surrounding Lucas. You’ll even find a little easter egg reference to this song within the story!
